VENDÉE GLOBE 2024
Sailing with Purpose
Our goal is to put the global media attention of Vendée Globe 2024, the solo round-the-world sailing race without stops or assistance, in service of the environment by using the boat as a collaborative platform for R&D projects, scientific research and educational initiatives aimed at improving the health of our oceans.
Our seas are in danger but it's often difficult to explain the complex threats they face.
Luckily, offshore sailing is an great vehicle to bring people closer to the sea and encourage them to protect it. That is why we will offer the ship as a scientific platform to scientific researchers as well as to non-profit organizations to carry out their important work .
The ocean is full challenges that require innovative solutions and business opportunities for those willing to try . That is why we want to make our IMOCA available to organizations doing R+D so that they can test their new technology on board.
We also want to build a network of support and share our team's skills with startups in the nautical sector: A true floating incubator.
Offshore sailing is an incredible educational vehicle, because it illustrates disciplines as diverse as engineering, meteorology
or geography. This is why our project includes several training initiatives for young sailors and is also committed to working in close collaboration with teachers so that students of all ages and backgrounds can expand their horizons through this beautiful sport.
